紙のように軽やかな鉄のスツール
Iron stool as lightweight and flexible as paper
“H Stool”は、板金加工工場のヒラミヤと共に開発した鉄製のミニスツールです。建築構造材のH形鋼に習い、構造によって全体の強度を十分に確保しつつ、素材自体の厚みを限りなく薄くすることで、まるで紙のように軽やかな造形に仕上げています。この薄さの鉄板をただ溶接するだけでは強度不十分でスツールとして機能しないため、完成品では肉眼で確認できないほどに痕跡が消されていますが、接合部には仕口を設けています。
"H Stool" is an iron mini stool jointly developed with the Japanese metal processing factory "Hiramiya". Modeled after the construction material, H-shaped steel, the structure ensures overall strength and the material is made as thin as possible for a paper-like light modeling. The refined Japanese sheet metal processing technology is essential for it. Traces on the finished products are erased to the point of being unseeable, but to actualize sufficient strength, there is a joint on welded parts, which is a unique value of the craftsmanship.
